Dr. James Crouse

Dr. James Crouse is a board certified orthodontist with over thirty years of experience in the field of dentistry and orthodontics. Dr. Crouse owns his Salisbury, Maryland-based practice, The Brace Place, and holds himself and his employees to the highest standards in orthodontics. He takes pride in helping people live their best possible life by improving their smiles and finding a way to make trips to the orthodontist enjoyable for kids, teenagers and adults alike.

Dr. Crouse attended dental school at the University of Maryland at Baltimore after receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland at College Park. He graduated magnacum laude from dental school in 1985 and went on to join the United States Air Force, completing his one-year practice residency in 1986 at Barksdale AFB Hospital.

Dr. Crouse practiced general dentistry at RAF Bentwaters in the United Kingdom for three years before leaving to complete his orthodontic training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating the program in 1991. He then spent three years at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany as an orthodontic consultant before returning home to the United States in 1994. He practiced in Maryland with Dr. Alfred Beattie, who retired in 1995.

Extremely active in the orthodontic and dental communities, Dr. Crouse is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Society, the Eastern Shore Dental Society, the American Association of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the Maryland Sleep Society. He is also a past president of the Eastern Shore Dental Society.

When he has spare time, Dr. Crouse enjoys scuba diving, riding his Harley, and traveling with his wife. He has two daughters and three granddaughters.
